Made of solid freijó wood, this piece opens space for the crochet delicacy through small windows that receives a flower each and also a hollow part where the flowers flow freely throughout its length The yarns are dyed naturally with fruits harvested in the artisan's orchard, in the south of Minas Gerais.
Naturally dyed cotton yarns have unique characteristics that never repeat. Due to this process the colors fade fades more easily than the industrial one, this is not considered a defect, it’s a way for it to tell its own story. At the time of ordering you should check what options are available.
The dyeing of the threads is done by the artisan Maria Santa and the delicate crochet is the result of the exquisite work of the artisan Cláudia Pinheiro.
In the interior of Minas, surrounded by threads of different colors and textures, feeling the scent of the tea made of herbs and flowers picked-up from the garden, tasting homemade fruit jellies and recently baked bread, I tried to learn how to crochet. I look at the old house, with its high ceilings, its yellowish walls and blue doors, but it was the window that caught my attention. It was spring and the garden was full of flowers that flooded the house with joy.
Suddenly my hands started to draw what my heart felt: the desire to bring this garden closer to me. Line after line, a drawing that mixed wood and flowers made of crochet emerged.
I was surrounded by the magical moment, hearing the stories told by the artisan, of how she was charmed by the region and decided to live there, despite being far from her sons and daughters. The truth is that there is no distance when we love.
Life goes by fast and it is necessary for it to have a meaning, it is necessary that we do what makes us happy, because only then we will be able to pass this ahead.
