Ceramic flowers transformed into lamps and finishing elements, with lacy painting inspired by the dresses of the famous dolls made in the valley. The LED lamp is housed in a molded core made of solid wood. The wire that conducts the electricity is covered by organic cotton yarns grown in Paraíba by family farmers. Delicate brass pieces finish the piece giving support to the wire.
These ceramics production process, traditional of the Jequitinhonha Valley, is 100% manual, from the extraction and preparation of the clay to the modeling and painting of the pieces with inks pigmented by different types of clay and stones found in the region, creating unique characteristics that couldn’t be repeated. All made by the hands of artisan Deuzani Gomes dos Santos and her daughters Marcilene and Gil, in Coqueiro Campo, a small community in Minas Gerais.
Coincidence, fate or chance ... I cannot say, I only know that once again I saw myself in Minas Gerais, received with sincere joy, a tight embrace and eyes that smile.
Getting to Jequitinhonha Valley is like diving into part of history, one that changed many lives and influenced so many others.
It is a place with women of strength, determination and courage. Women who put their souls in the clay and through it describe their lives and welcome their dreams, expressing all the delicacy and softness that they have inside them. Women who while molding the clay learned to respect time, without letting it pass, accept adversity, without accommodating, and today plant their gardens around the world, rewriting their stories.
It was there, in Jequitinhonha Valley, a place so full of past, of stories and traditions, that I filled my soul with the future and learned to live with time. The time where the old and the new blend, merge, transform into each other and become part of our memories.

Flores feitas em cerâmica do Vale do Jequitinhonha transformadas em luminárias e canoplas, com pintura rendada inspirada nos vestidos das famosas bonecas da região. A lâmpada LED é acolhida num miolo torneado em madeira maciça. O fio que conduz a eletricidade é recoberto por fios de algodão orgânico cultivados na Paraíba por agricultores familiares. Delicadas peças de latão finalizam a peça dando suporte ao fio.
Este processo de produção da cerâmica tradicional do Vale do Jequitinhonha é 100% manual, desde a extração e preparação da argila até a modelagem e pintura das peças com tintas pigmentadas por diferentes tipos de argila e pedras encontradas na região, criando características únicas que não se repetem. Tudo feito pelas mãos da artesã Deuzani Gomes dos Santos e suas filhas Marcilene e Gil, em Coqueiro Campo, uma pequena comunidade em Minas Gerais.
Coincidência, destino ou acaso... Não sei dizer, só sei que mais uma vez me vi em Minas Gerais, recebida com alegria sincera, abraço apertado e sorriso no olhar.
Chegar ao Vale do Jequitinhonha é como mergulhar em parte da nossa história, uma história que mudou muitas vidas e influenciou outras tantas.
Lugar de mulheres de força, determinação e coragem. Mulheres que colocam no barro suas almas e através dele descrevem suas vidas e acolhem seus sonhos, expressando toda delicadeza e suavidade que têm dentro de si. Mulheres que moldando o barro aprenderam a respeitar o tempo, sem no entanto deixá-lo passar, a aceitar as adversidades, sem se acomodar, e hoje plantam seus jardins pelo mundo, reescrevendo seus destinos.
Foi lá, no Vale do Jequitinhonha, um lugar tão cheio de passado, de histórias e tradições, que eu enchi minha alma de futuro e aprendi a viver com o tempo. O tempo onde o antigo e o novo se confundem, se fundem, transformam-se um no outro e passam a fazer parte das nossas memórias.
